Oral Sedation — Relaxed & Comfortable

Oral sedation involves taking a prescription anti-anxiety medication approximately one hour before your appointment. By the time you arrive at our office, you will feel genuinely calm and deeply relaxed — still awake and able to cooperate, but without the usual anxiety, tension, or heightened sensitivity.

Oral sedation is an excellent option for patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety who want meaningfully more relaxation than nitrous oxide provides, but who do not need the deep sedation of IV administration. It is also suitable for patients who prefer to avoid needles for the sedation itself.

Because the sedative effect persists for several hours after your appointment, a trusted adult must drive you to and from the office. Most patients feel completely normal by the following morning.
